You can create a cross country meet from the Meet Manager tab in your DirectAthletics coach or admin account.

Important: Cross country meets cannot be cloned.

Create your meet

  1. Log in to your DirectAthletics coach or admin account.
  2. Select the Meet Manager tab.
  3. Select Create New Meet.
  4. Enter the Meet Name.
  5. Select the home team from the dropdown menu.
  6. Choose the appropriate registration type:
    • Standard Online Registration: Allows you to create races and coaches to select athletes for specific races.
    • Roster Registration: Coaches declare which athletes will attend without entering them in specific races. Events cannot be added to the meet registration with this option.
  7. Select the appropriate venue from the Course dropdown.
  8. Enter the registration start and end dates.
  9. Select the types of teams allowed to register.
  10. Configure entry fees if you are collecting registration fees online.
  11. Choose Open or Invitational registration.
  12. Review your information and select Submit.

If you do not have the Meet Manager tab

If Meet Manager does not appear in your account, contact DirectAthletics Support.

If your course is not listed

If you cannot find the correct venue under Course, contact DirectAthletics Support for assistance.

Choose who can register

Select each team type that should be allowed to enter your meet.

Team types you do not select will not be able to register.

Set entry fees

If you are collecting registration fees online, configure your pricing during meet setup.

Individual pricing

Individual pricing applies when individual athletes are allowed to register for the meet.

Team pricing

Choose the pricing structure that matches your meet.

Flat rate for each team

Enter an amount under Price per Team and leave Price per Athlete blank.

Charge per athlete up to a team cap

Enter:

  • Price per Athlete
  • Price per Team, which serves as the team cap
  • Minimum athletes for team price

For example, if you set:

  • Price per Athlete: $20
  • Price per Team: $150
  • Minimum athletes for team price: 5

Teams with up to four athletes are charged $20 per athlete. A team with five or more athletes is charged $150.

Charge per athlete with no team fee

Enter an amount under Price per Athlete and leave Price per Team blank.

Select Required or Optional next to the applicable payment features to enable payment for your meet.

If the entry-fee settings are unavailable, contact DirectAthletics Support.

Choose Open or Invitational registration

Open

Select Open if any eligible teams or athletes should be able to enter the meet.

Invitational

Select Invitational if registration should be limited to teams or leagues you invite.

Add races

After saving your meet:

  1. Select the green Add Events tab at the bottom of the meet page.
  2. Enter a clear race name, such as Varsity Boys 5K or Girls 1 Mile Run.
  3. Set Max Athletes per Team if you want to limit how many athletes each team can enter.
  4. Select the correct gender.
  5. Enter the race distance.
  6. Set Max Teams if you want to limit the number of teams that can register.
  7. Select Submit.
  8. Repeat these steps for each additional race.

Registration will not begin until events have been added.

Schedule teams

After creating your races:

  1. Select the green Schedule button at the top of the meet page.
  2. If the meet is invitational, select Edit Registration Method.
  3. Add the teams or leagues invited to register.

Before opening registration

Review your complete meet setup and confirm:

  • Meet information is correct.
  • The correct course is selected.
  • Registration dates are correct.
  • Eligible team types are selected.
  • Entry fees are correct, if applicable.
  • Open or Invitational registration is configured correctly.
  • All races have been added.
  • Athlete and team limits are correct, if applicable.
